The main topic for discussion at the last round of forums in April was “The role of the Co-operative in a big society” posed by the Membership Strategy Committee. There were four questions to be discussed:
1. What matters to you and how can we as a Co-operative can provide support? 2. What else could we possibly do to involve members in their local community? 3. Is there a campaigning opportunity? 4. What about member volunteering? As well as the questions regarding the Big Society and the co-operative’s role within it there was an opportunity for members to put forward questions on any topic which you can find in the full Q&A’s. One question raised at the Oxford forum by a member was on the subject of the quality of the bacon sold in our Food stores. To read the full answer on this question from our Ethical Food Manager go to the Oxford meeting in the Q&A’s.
